What is LINC?
LINC (Lincoln International Networking Community) was created in 2008 to assist new international students in their academic, social, and cultural adjustments to UNL and the Lincoln community. Each international student in the program is matched with one or more local mentors that they may meet and interact with once a week for eight weeks of the semester.

Connect. Teach. Learn
LINC connects any interested international student, scholar, or community member with opportunities to engage in local community activities, events, and ongoing meetings that promote understanding of the various international influences in Lincoln. Through mentor/mentee interaction, this website, Twitter and Facebook, we facilitate cross-cultural dialogue for all. It provides an excellent "link" for participants to teach the ways of their own culture and learn the ways of another.
LINC members are asked to commit only one hour per week to their partner and are required to attend the Connections Party (where mentors and mentees are matched) and the Closing Party. Dates and times are posted well in advance and e-mail reminders are sent regularly. In addition, optional LINC-organized events are scheduled throughout the eight week program.
Partial support for this project has been provided by the United States Department of State, through a grant from the Collaborative Training Grants Program of NAFSA: Association of International Educators.
